- Embedded systems
- I like working on embedded systems, in particular close to the hardware. Currently I earn my living by programming them, so far mostly for the automotive industry. I also work with microcontrollers and electronics as a hobby (NXP LPC17xx ARM Cortex M3, Atmel AVR).

- Previously I worked on a car multimedia system in Java for Siemens VDO. In the interview they asked me a lot of questions about Lejos.
- Linux
- I have long experience as user, admin of my personal machines and as a kernel driver developer. I started using it at the end of 1992.
- Free and open-source software

I make my personal projects open-source, preferably GPL.
I helped start the Taxbird project, a GPLed implementation for declaring german taxes electronically via Elster. I'm no longer active in this project.

- Human languages
- I'm quite fluent in german, english, french and swedish and know a few bits of italian, dutch and icelandic.

- LEGO
- I like to play with LEGO, especially LEGO robotics.
